7 Must-do’s for Social Success
So, you’ve managed to start postings consistently… now what? We could write for days about all the ways you can increase your following and boost your engagement, but we’ll kick it off with the basics:
Planning your social media calendar is a form of self-care
Make a calendar one month in advance by researching trends, taking note of annual holiday calendars, and utilizing content you already have. Not only will you feel more organized, but you’ll be less stressed on the days that you realize you forgot to post — because you’ve already prepared the content.
Speak your mind and do it often
Don’t ignore the random emoji comments from followers! Respond to every comment and DM with your brand's personality — but don't overthink it. Being short is better than being inauthentic.
Hashtag all ways, always
Just like this week’s trending meme… hashtags get old. Make sure you’re reviewing and updating them frequently. Check out hashtag generators and search industry-relevant #'s on your favorite social channels to stay up-to-date on the most prominent tags.
It’s not a race, but you still need to Track Your Success
Monitor your analytics and improve accordingly. If you’re a spreadsheet lover like we are, start your week off with a cup of coffee and an analytic review. See which posts brought you temporary social fame… and take note of the posts that didn’t ring a bell with your followers. Most social channels offer free metrics — but you can also buy software that provides more in-depth insights.
TAG, you’re it
Tag your partners in the photo AND the caption. Also, make sure that when you’re sharing other brand’s posts in your stories, you’re tagging them as well. This will increase your changes of getting re-posted on their channel!
Show us the diamonds, cuz it’s time to ENGAGE
First, figure out who you want to be engaging with your platforms. Second - start to like, comment and share their content. Respond to their stories. MAKE YOUR PRESENCE KNOWN! Also, big tip: start engaging 30 minutes before and after you add to your feed — algorithms love this.
Make Insta BFF’s
Don’t be afraid to propose a collab with fellow industry partners. Consider hosting a giveaway with local businesses, industry-relevant partners, and thought leaders.
